NEW WORK

After 20+ years of dyeing all my materials and weaving on a floor loom, I am ready for a change. Those processes were once meditative and rhythmical, but over time they became physically too demanding and restrictive. My ideas were developing much faster and were increasingly more complicated than I could weave them. I used a simple computer graphics program to "sketch" compositions and color combinations to plan the weavings and I recognized their potential as artworks on their own. The constructed paintings are in total rebellion against straight lines and 90º angles, but draw deeply on the rich color and illusory concepts of my weavings.

Digital drawings printed on 1/4" acrylic panels

Acrylic on Tyvek; cut into shapes and somehow interlaced according to my whim and inspiration
